What are the Top Benefits of React Native?
React Native has emerged as one of the most popular frameworks for mobile app development, especially for companies looking to build robust applications efficiently and cost-effectively. With the demand for multi-platform support on the rise, businesses are increasingly turning to React Native app development services to take advantage of its powerful features and flexibility.
One of the primary benefits of React Native is enhanced development speed. By enabling developers to write a single codebase for both iOS and Android, it significantly reduces the time and cost associated with building two separate native applications. This is particularly valuable for startups and businesses looking to launch apps quickly without compromising on performance.
React Native is also easy to learn, especially for developers already familiar with JavaScript or React. This lowers the learning curve and makes it easier for teams to adopt the technology. Moreover, its over-the-air update capability allows developers to push updates directly to users without requiring them to download the app again from the store—a major advantage in reducing update cycles and improving user experience.
Another critical benefit is application stability. React Native uses a unidirectional data flow and a streamlined data binding process that results in more predictable and stable applications. Combined with a vibrant open-source community, React Native provides access to numerous plugins, libraries, and support that enhance productivity.
Interestingly, businesses leveraging React Native often pair it with Electron for desktop apps to maintain a consistent development approach across mobile and desktop platforms. Just like React Native for mobile, Electron allows developers to build cross-platform desktop applications using web technologies, ensuring a unified development process and faster deployment across devices.
In conclusion, React Native app development services empower businesses to build fast, reliable, and scalable applications. When combined with Electron for desktop apps, organizations can achieve full-spectrum cross-platform development—from smartphones to desktop systems—drastically enhancing their digital reach and operational efficiency.

I love your game English is not my language and I use a translator but I couldn't pass up the opportunityI like all milos, they are huggable and moldable!🌟🤍
I wondered how the Milos would react if Eris told them she was moving away, if that could happen
Thank you! I'm always surprised that people who are not native speakers still take the time to play my game. If anyone ever does translations for my game, I will be sure to figure out how to put them in. But I'm sure that would be a lot of work.
Ooh, I'm sure that would not make them happy.
Pre Milo is in shock and is on the verge of crying. He'd probably ask a lot about where they were moving and how they would stay connected. If it was close enough, he'd probably find a way to visit or even move in a nearby area, but if it was far away, the poor thing probably doesn't have enough money to go with Eris. I'd imagine he would do his best to make a long distance relationship work, but if Eris starts to ignore him too much, expect a lot of phone calls. Maybe that's part of Eris's plan, who knows.
Manipulation Milo thinks that they're joking at first and will keep pretending they are as they try to convince Eris that moving is a bad idea. However, when he does realize that it's not a joke, he will become majorly desperate. Begging and pleading for them to not leave. He will bug Eris's phone and electronics and he will keep a very close eye on their social media accounts, or try to learn how to hack into their laptop's camera. I'm sure Eris would be impressed at their diligence in always keeping an eye on them.
Violence Milo is not happy and he's going to make sure they don't move. Kidnapping and breaking bones are not something he's afraid of, even if he feels bad about it and sometimes it's the only way to keep them from leaving. If Eris does somehow move successfully, he will do everything in his power to come after them. He'll mug people or take their car or whatever he needs to. He will come after Eris and he will make sure they stay together. Eris couldn't be happier.

Apex: Chapter 02
Tumblr media
Adult | Sci-Fantasy | Trans MMC | Mechs
First draft is being posted as written. Errors and continuity issues will exist.
-----
Discharge didn’t take long. Castir checked the healing gash that now bisected one of Auren’s top surgery scars, then reconnected the hormone filter to the back of his neck. Auren’s testosterone levels were managed and monitored through the device, which was installed almost five years ago. Nothing was damaged in the Avatar altercation, Auren was free to go.
Free to go directly to the huge, highly decorated office on the third floor, anyway. A Tanas-Ashen soldier even showed up to escort him, just in case he forgot where it was.
Auren never felt more like an outsider than when he was in this wing. The blond-haired, blue-eyed natives of Tanas-Ashe were the majority here, where his dark hair and brown eyes marked him clearly as “other.” Most of them were good people, but the younger staff with less worldly experience often stared or whispered. The nation came a long way since its founding as a penal colony for ethno-terrorists, and was practically a hub of diversity compared to its origins, but its remote location kept its borders mostly closed by default.
He wondered how the citizens were reacting to the brown-skinned soldiers who were no doubt patrolling their streets by now. Fear? Intrigue? Or terror at the possibility they’d be treated the same way their own soldiers treated the territories they invaded?
The irony would be delicious, if the conqueror was anyone other than Vespria.
Little was known about the Southern Empire, whose border began a few kilometers south of the equator with a huge wall bisecting Sapherion’s single great land mass. Nobody knew how big it was, and no map had any details of its shores. Unmanned surveillance went blind when flown over it, blocked by a net of electronic signals, and manned aircraft never lasted long enough past the wall to observe it before being shot down. Abaddon’s interference made the atmosphere inhospitable, and no satellites or spacecraft survived long enough to capture more than a few grainy, useless images.
Two thousand years ago, when Earth’s first colonies were built on Sapherion, the southern lands held a number of nations. But those countries had all fallen in the centuries since then, swallowed up by Vespria’s invading emperors and empresses. It seemed they’d run out of local people to conquer, and had turned their eyes to the north.
Here there be monsters, modern globes stated in the blurred mass of painted clouds where Vespria should be. Now the monsters were here in Tanas-Ashe.
King Tiberius’ office was at the end of the hall, the heavy wooden door flanked by three guards on each side. One opened the door for Auren and his escort fell back, allowing him to step inside alone. Tiberius was sitting at his grand wooden desk, looking like he’d aged a decade in the past week alone. He glanced up from what he was writing, and snapped his fingers for the two men cleaning the room to leave. When the door closed behind them, he rose from his seat.
Even in his sixties, Tiberius was broad and strong. He towered over Auren’s 5’6” frame and could easily break him in two. The hug he pulled Auren into nearly did just that, leaving him gasping for air.
“What were you thinking?” Tiberius demanded, abruptly shoving Auren back by the shoulders. Shrewd ocean eyes narrowed, relief replaced by frustration, and he gave his charge a little shake. “Slipping away from the control center! Stealing a battle unit! Have you lost your ever-loving mind?”
“You’re not the first one to ask me that today,” Auren replied. “Honestly, I’m starting to wonder.”
“Stupid, reckless little brat,” Tiberius complained, releasing Auren to sit on the edge of his desk. “Twenty years and none of your tutors or governesses managed to drill common sense into you, I ought to have them all fired.”
Twenty years, already. Twenty years since Tanas-Ashe invaded the tiny country of Kyrastir, and brought Auren to Avrelas to be raised in the royal court.
“If I say I’m sorry and I’ll never do it again, will I be forgiven?” Auren asked. “Or do I not get any allowance for the next six months?”
“You joke,” Tiberius grunted. “We have no idea what Vespria intends, and escape plans had to be put on hold while you were in recovery.”
“Escape plans?”
Tiberius looked at Auren as if his Spark mania rattled his braincells. His answer came out in a grunt of surprise as the office door was kicked open with enough force to send it slamming into the wall.
“Escape plans?” The masked and armored man who strolled in echoed Auren’s question. He moved quickly, checking behind the door and scanning the room before motioning behind him, bringing four more soldiers streaming in to stand back against the office walls with guns drawn. “Please, share.”
The one who spoke was of high rank, if the bells and whistles on his black uniform were any indication. The mask he wore was metal, covering the bottom half of his face and neck from the nose down, and engraved with the elegant image of a firebird in flight. It didn’t muffle his speech, which was thick with an accent Auren never heard before. The only visible part of him was his dark brown eyes, completing their search of the room from beneath his war-bruised helmet.
“I see Vespria doesn’t practice knocking,” Tiberius replied coldly. “Or respect for royalty.”
He was back on his feet now, standing tall and proud. A quick glance around told Auren he was the shortest person in the room, and he stealthily slid back a few feet in case the two bigger men came to blows.
“Vespria have plenty of respect,” the soldier replied. “For one who deserve it. Come, be nice to man who find Queen and Princess wandering outside wall and escort safely back.”
Tiberius face flashed briefly alarmed as the soldier waved an arm toward the hallway just outside the door, where a terrified Queen Ariana and Princess Thessalie stood, still in their riding leathers. Neither appeared harmed, but the splashes of red across their elegant riding gear hinted at a less pleasant fate for the Tanas-Ashen soldiers who must have been escorting them.
Escape plans. Tiberius meant to flee to Myrren, the kingdom’s northernmost and second largest city, and sent the women ahead.
Not soon enough, it seemed.
“Gavan and Taryn will take ladies back to rooms,” the soldier informed Tiberius, lazily pulling off his gloves as he nodded to two more men. They carried blades instead of guns, and didn’t wear body armor. “Will stay with them, keep them safe from wandering. You will talk to Princess Jannel, Ambassador of Vespria Emperor.”
He snapped his fingers impatiently, and Gavan and Taryn parted to allow a petite, curvy woman to enter the room. She was beautiful, with a halo of tight black curls and wide eyes lined expertly in kohl. Her tunic was of delicate, fine fabric Auren didn’t recognize, and her fingers and neck glittered with gold and semiprecious gemstones.
It was an insult, and the soldier’s harsh stare daring Tiberius to disrespect Jannel in the presence of her entourage said they all knew it. Tanas-Ashe was a patriarchal society, women weren’t allowed to hold high offices, let alone speak to the king like an equal.
Auren loved Tiberius, or at least felt the closest thing to love somebody in his circumstances could feel. But some part of him still hoped Jannel verbally tore him to shreds.
“I go with guard, take ladies to rooms,” the soldier said, breaking eye contact with Tiberius to face her. “Four soldier here, six more in hall, twelve more coming. You call when done, will escort you back to hotel.”
“Thank you, Luceris,” Jannel’s voice was deep and rich, like music on a summer night. She had the same heavy accent.
Luceris’ gaze swept the room one more time, only now low enough to realize Auren was here. Auren stared back at him, not certain what this man’s rank was or how he was supposed to address him.
“You,” Luceris decided, pointing at him rudely, “will give me tour.”
Auren looked at Tiberius. His jaw was set, his teeth grinding hard enough it was a wonder they didn’t break. The king nodded, unable to decline the soldier’s demand, and Auren bowed.
“Your Majesty,” he said in farewell, hesitating for a second before deciding to bow to Jannel as well. She was a princess, after all. “Your Royal Highness. Leave taken.”
Auren joined the trembling Ariana and Thessalie in the hall, and the three were immediately flanked by Gavan and Taryn. Like the soldiers inside, both men wore plain silver masks, but their short hair wasn’t covered by helmets.  They were also less stiff than the others, completely comfortable with having everyone else hold the guns.
Luceris followed them out and closed the door behind him with a decisive click. He picked out two Vesprian soldiers from the six gathered and motioned them over, and they shouldered their weapons. As they got closer, Auren realized they were women. That was very interesting.
“Go with Fool One and Fool Two,” Luceris drawled, nodding at Gavan and Taryn, who both shot him annoyed looks. “Take Queen and Princess to quarters. Call ten female Privates, make ladies safe and comfortable. You stay guard, Gavan and Taryn take care of any requests. Go.”
Luceris waved them off as if they were annoying children, and everyone obeyed. With practiced formality, the two soldiers preceded the women to clear the way, and the two men fell in behind them. Auren wasn’t sure if he was supposed to stay or go, until Luceris jabbed him between the shoulder blades with one knuckle and urged him in the opposite direction.
After three days here, Auren doubted a soldier of his rank really needed a tour. He seemed like the kind of man who went wherever he wanted and stuck his nose wherever he felt like, and what he lacked in size he made up for with his uniform’s intimidation factor.
“Am I being taken to the gardens to be shot?” Auren finally spoke up as they turned down an empty hall overlooking the snow-covered flower bushes. “The firing range is closer.”
“Waste of bullet,” Luceris answered. “Neck is tiny and brittle, easy to break. We go to Avatar hangars, you will give access.”
That was the moment Auren’s stomach finally sank. The rest of it was familiar; the strange faces with uniforms and guns, the doors kicked open and demands made, even being shoved around and commanded in words he barely understood. This wasn’t the first time Auren watched a foreign army march into his home and take it for their own.
But he was only ten years old the first time it happened. This time, he had something to lose, and it was locked safely in the Avatar hangars.
Auren stopped at the elevator door and tilted his head back toward his captor, schooling his face into a carefully neutral expression. He refused to let any of his body language tell Luceris anything was wrong, frowning slightly and raising an eyebrow.
“What makes you think they let me have access to the Avatar hangars?”
Luceris scoffed and hit the button to go down. Then he reached up and pulled off his helmet and mask, and Auren froze in place.
Most of the battle on the Stretch was hazy, lost in the rush of Spark madness and feeling like a dream. But he knew that face, there was no way he’d ever forget it.
It was the Vesprian Avatar pilot who faced him on the battlefield. The man he’d fought for almost half an hour, stuck in an enraging stalemate neither was able to break.
In the silence as they stared at each other, the cheerful ping of the elevator doors opening echoed like a gunshot.
“Little birdie tell me,” Luceris said finally, motioning for him to step inside. “Assholes first.”
That broke Auren’s shock. He felt is face twist into a scowl before he could stop it.
“Then please, don’t let me block your way.”
Rather than getting irritated, Luceris smirked. It was that same smirk he’d given as he watched Auren get tackled into the mud, that same smug look as Auren had screamed and cursed at him impotently. Luceris stepped past him into the elevator, gripping the back of his collar to pull him along so he couldn’t escape as the doors closed.
As Auren raked his brain for any possibility of escape, the elevator started down.

24 things I learned in 2024
Nothing will change, if you don't change something.
The longer you avoid doing something, the scarier and harder it becomes.
The self is too complex to be introduced completely to other people. In an introduction situation: What is relevant for the other person to know about you in this moment?
You deserve a life you want to live. Don't settle for a life you don't enjoy and make decisions based on others opinions.
You need to change your environment regularly or you become depressed like a zoo animal. Go outside!
Your daily little choices decide how your life will form and feel. (Do I do the important thing now or waste time scrolling on social media?)
It is okay to ask for help. You don't need to do everything alone and you also can't do everything alone.
Your behaviour and habits are your responsibility.
You can't learn something, if you think you need to do everything perfect the first time. If you already knew everything, you wouldn't need to learn it, would you?
The only rule in life is that death is the end. Spend time with your loved ones and the things you love.
Grief is a sign of love (Schäme dich nicht für deine Tränen. Sie sind ein Zeichen, dass dich Sachen berühren).
Good things take time, energy and focus. Don't give up.
Personal time for hobbies is sooo important.
Everyone makes mistakes when speaking, even native speakers.
If you want something really good, you need to make some sacrifices that will not feel so good. That is the balance.
If you isolate yourself, your social anxiety will get worse.
You need to do things where you are actually present and people and the world react to you and you are not just an electronic ghost on the internet.
Breaks are okay and even necessary to not get overwhelmed!
Enough sleep is essential. For everything. You need to try getting as much good sleep as possible.
The first time doing something new is always the scaries. It gets easier after that. (Also applies if you haven't done something in a long time.)
Follow your interest and fascination with something as soon as possible or it will fade away and you will regret letting this highly motivational energy go.
Anytime you worry someone is gonna judge you, that is really just you judging yourself. Ask yourself why and work on that.
Medicine for mentall illnesses can be just as necessary and helpful as medicine for physical illnesses. There is no shame in taking them.
Not moving enough during the day/week will make your life significantly harder and more painful in the future.

A Family Dinner
Another passage from my narrative, since I'll be posting those here more often.
Here's your first proper introduction to a few of the main characters in my narrative, and I relied both on my own extremely limited Spanish but mostly a translator to pull this scene together.
Uhhh tagging the only person I know would be interested in reading this,in the hopes that I have done them justice
@thatqueerweirdo
The alien, Mateo Alciato observes, is surprisingly civil. His lips move accordingly, but the sound, his voice, Mateo presumes, comes from one of his wrists.
“Estaré en deuda contigo,” he states, and he attempts to raise a choripán to his mouth. His dress sways softly in the wind
The alien takes a bite and pauses.
“Algo está mal?” Lucia asks
“No, no, lo siento, señora…nunca… comido el carne...antes” this response comes from him, and Mateo can tell, no only because his Spanish is mistranslated, but also because of the familiar off-russian accent; a refreshing change of pace, he finds, from that grating electronic voice.
The alien mutters something in his native tongue, referencing something…or someone named Akanthé.
“El hoyo en Constitución,” great-aunt Alcira asks, “¿eras vos?”
 The alien nods, somewhat sheepish.
“Mi nave se…un momento… des…hi…deshizo.” and again, with more certainty, “mi nave se deshizo. Yo… estrellar con los Andes.”
Mateo nods. His Spanish is relatively conversational, despite his conjugation and grammar errors.
A smile forms on Mateo’s face. In time, he will learn, but for now…it’s best to let him rest.
“¿Cómo te llamas?”
“Mi nombre es Kaió, y soy…oriundo de la…planeta Kaia, en la galaxia Arisiana”
“No he oído hablar de él antes,” María states.
“Ah, lo…saber como… la galaxia Andrómeda.”
Mateo leans forward, intrigued.
María, on the other hand…
“Tienes el viaje intergaláctico?”
“Si,” Kaió agrees, nodding emphatically.
Kaió offers a timid smile, and Mateo responds in kind.
The extraterrestrial’s gaze returns to his half-eaten food, and, with a left arm, points to it.
“Cual…”
“Choripán,” Lucia answers, “María lo hizo.”
Kaió’s four eyes focus on the lunch before him.
To this day, despite seeing it with his own eyes, back before he knew of Kaió’s true nature, watching his irises spill into the whites…uh…greys of his eyes sends a chill down his spine.
This being, though cordial, is capable of extreme violence.
Kaió’s gaze turns to Mateo’s bewildered daughter.
“Como hiciste eso?”
María stretches out a hand towards Kaió’s face, and for a moment, Mateo fears for her, that the alien would react defensively.
Instead, he gently places a scaled left hand on María’s wrist and redirects her.
“La práctica, niña.”
The girl’s eyes widen, and she turns her gaze to her own chorizo, staring at it with the intensity of a monastic disciple.
“Por favor, María, termine de comer.” Lucia says, but Mateo knows that look. It’s that same half-smile she makes when her amusement betrays her instructions.
“Estoy tratando de hacer que mis ojos sangren,” María declares, again with her monastic intensity.
“Were that the case,” Kaió mutters in English, “I would not be sitting with you Terrans.”
Mateo, in a stroke of mischievous impulse, translates Kaió’s words for the rest of his family, garnering a variety of looks, from the confusion on great-aunt Alcira’s face, to the awe on his daughter’s face, and the flushed cheeks of his wife; Mateo himself expressed a restrained interest, making sure that he does not appear to invested in their new guest.
“Me disculpo por mi hija, Kaió,”
“No, no, estas bien.”
Even Mateo can see that language barrier disintegrate, having been chipped at little by little until this moment.
It seems as though embarrassment is a universal constant.
“Que vamos a hacer ahora?” Alcira asks, addressing the elephant in the room.
“Podemos mantenerlo? Por favooooooooooooooor? Por favooooooooooooooooooor?”
“María,” Mateo adds between bites. This is the first time he has spoken all evening. “No esta una mascota.”
“Hay tambien el problema de seguridad nacional.” Alcira adds. “Es posible que el gobierno no sea indulgente con los extraterrestres.”
“Puede cambiar!” María shouts. “¡Cambia! Cambia! ¡Cambia!”
“Uno momento,” Kaió states, his voice unusually level for the situation at hand, “necesit…a…mos… necesitamos tomar…sus palas.”
This garners a few looks of confusion from the Alciato household.
“It’s okay,” Mateo answers in English, “take your time.”
“I would be grateful for your assistance,” Kaió pleads, “it seems as though I have reached the limits of my knowledge. On the matter of the Spanish language.”
“What did you want to say?”
“I wished to suggest that we take Alcira’s viewpoint into account. I am sorely unfamiliar with your method of governance, and how your sector would react to such a possibility of my existence.”
Matteo nods, glancing back at his family, Alcira and Lucia staring at him expectantly, while María has already opened her dictionary.
“No necesitas, María,” Mateo gently tells her, and Kaió offers the family an apologetic look, the scales on his face pointed sharply downwards in an attempt to convey remorse.
“Hay que tener en cuenta las palabras de la tía Alcira,” Mateo translates.
“This is a time-sensitive matter…” Kaió adds.
“Este es un asunto sensible al tiempo.” Mateo translates.
“But I am eternally grateful for your patronage…”
“Pero estoy eternamente agradecido por su patrocinio.”
“No podemos rechazar a alguien necesitado,” Alcira answers, and her tone softens, a rare occurrence with her, “aun que eres un extranjero en este planeta.”
“Para que podamos quedarnos?”
“Si, María,” Alcira confirms, “y tú estás a cargo de su lección de español.”
The girl, Mateo’s pride and joy, scrunches her face. The monastic determination was now replaced with unrestrained confidence, beaming from ear to ear.
“Su dente!” Kaió cries, the usually-deadpan robotic voice on his translator somehow perfectly emulating his distress. “A quien debo matar para vengarte?”
“El Ratón Pérez es inocente! ¡No mates a mi amigo!”
Kaió’s gaze softens, and he places a sheathed dagger on the coffee table.
“Como quieras, María.”

[spoilers under the cut; read the above post first. Seriously, do it]
This is fascinating to think about as the initial case of a digitised mind. There's a sense that the "close your eyes as meat, wake up as silicon" model includes a level of inbuilt digital nativity, but there's none of that here; how does your sensorium interpret things like data being uploaded into you?
I mean presumably at first it doesn't; your digital mind is entirely novel, and nobody has any idea how to interface with it. But we'd learn. Maybe we'd have to bootstrap off existing senses at first? Sight's the most information dense, but sound is easier to manage as a singular data stream. Maybe it'd be like phreaking! Specific tones modulated in specific ways, "tuned" by monitoring your mind in ways we could never do with an organic one.
Of course that mind monitoring would be a massive thing in and of itself. Presumably detailed diagnostics were already readily available for the exosuit and interface systems, but now those are the whole show. Imagine being able to output a real-time brain scan; it'd be like modern neuroscience at lightspeed. You'd be able to correlate mental activity with stimuli or actions or will or whatever you wanted at unparalleled speeds.
Eventually, you'd be able to make edits.
The tools would already be there; the suit was designed to refine your thoughts in certain directions already, after all. Only now you can direct it yourself, editing your own stream of consciousness to promote or suppress specific aspects. A tweak here, an internal observation of how your thinking changed, a tweak there.
You'd be able to make yourself happier; maybe if you weren't careful you'd create a feedback loop and turn yourself into a utility monster. You'd be able to manually improve your ability to understand and edit yourself. Hang on, though, isn't that the process that's supposed to lead to the Singularity? Hmm. Better hook up some extra processing power and check.
Yep, there it goes. You're a self-enhancing problem solving machine now. You know your own mind so well that when you encounter new subjects you can literally edit away the confusion. Never had a head for calculus? You do now! Still, more resources to work with would be nice. Better put that cyberbrain to use on that first.
It's not exactly free and instant, but with anything that has rapid feedback it might as well be. You build a simple CPU simulator, design a chip, simulate it, prod your thinking a little, then repeat. Once you've aligned your mind for hardware design, you up the complexity. Once you reach the limit of what you can design in a reasonable timeframe, you fabricate your designs and install them for a speed boost.
Of course, there's always a new bottleneck; eventually you run into the physical limitations of classical computing. That just means it's time to move onto quantum though, right? Well, maybe we should take a break and tend to the rest of the world for a moment. Align for defeating digital security? Sure. Align for correlating mass amounts of scientific data? Sounds good. Align for building specialised CPU architecture for particularly tough problems? You got it. Huh, so that's what dark matter probably is. Maybe you should tell somebody.
Oh, a relative of yours is dying of cancer. Better get to work on that. Can we get sufficient simulation fidelity to accurately represent enough cells? Yes we can! Can we get sufficient real-world resolution to accurately load a sample of the cancer into it? Not a problem! Can we acquire such a sample? Ah, here the reclusiveness becomes an issue.
There's a few options, but you decide to release the improved electron microscope design. There's an agonising wait while the wheels of progress, even greased anonymously, turn too slowly. But you're not sure how people would react to your new capabilities and you were never the most social anyway (maybe you could edit up some gregariousness, but there's cancer to be cured and you want to keep your thoughts optimised for that).
Your sister is fast-tracked to be one of the first to receive a full assessment with the new technology, which you promptly download. Simulate effects from various molecular changes, then try introducing new molecules to induce those changes, then see how candidate molecules interact with healthy cells...alright, this one looks promising.
Wait, clinical trials take how long to get approved? Right. Exosuit it is.
Ablative Humanity
An old story about mechsuits and identity, copied from my former twitter account (originally written on August 10th, 2018).
So the war comes, and we have to use mechanical exoskeletons to have any chance of fighting back. They're mind-linked, so you control them by just thinking of moving, and they learn from you to get better, predict your motions, and you become a better fighter.
At first you're just wearing it for when you go out on raids, or when you're on guard duty, but after so many surprise raids you end up wearing it all the time.
it's comfortable enough to live in, and with the sensors hooked up you don't really feel "you" anymore, you feel the suit. After a while it starts to feel weird when you have to take it off for a medical check up.
In the early days, you felt "big" in the suit. now you feel "small" when you take it off. You stop taking it off, as much as possible. towards the end of the war you're wearing it for weeks at a time, then months at a time.
Finally, the enemy is pushed back. Security can exist again, the random raids slowly trail off, and slowly things settle down. you remember what "calm" is.
There's never a treaty, but at least you're no longer staying up for days at a time watching the horizon with the suit's far-beyond-human eyes, watching for an attack. You're no longer keeping a satellite feed up in the corner of your vision, watching for movement.
And the day you were waiting for, at least at first, finally comes. You're going home. The war is over, or over enough that you're no longer needed here. You can take off the suit for the last time, and go back to your pre-war life.
You approach that appointment with some trepidation. you've felt so weak and tiny and powerless when you've had to be outside the suit before, will you ever get used to being a normal human again?
It takes three techs and 2 doctors to get the suit open at this point, given all the armor and modifications that have been made. it's basically grown around you like a second skin, just a second skin that can shrug off high-explosive anti-tank rounds.
They start with computer connectors and migrate to screwdrivers and by the end they're using something that looks like halfway between a crowbar and the jaws of life, while you're busy keeping your automatic self-defense reactions from frying them.
And finally they crack it open, and someone vomits from the smell. There's nothing but a decaying corpse inside.
There's confusion at first, someone asks if you're controlling the suit remotely, but they check the dogtags. Then the DNA. It's you. or, "you". Cause you're you, aren't you? This is just a human body... and you're still alive.
The suit's mind-link systems grew into your brain and took over functionality and worked on emulating your reactions so it could do what you want, better, faster.
And at the same time, your mind did what human minds do: they adapt. Humans are naturally cyborgs, you only have to pick up a pencil to realize that. It's part of your body image, and you think of moving the pencil, not moving your fingers to move the pencil.
So your human mind got more robotic, and the suit's computerized mind got more human. At some point you met in the middle.
And then one day on the battlefield when the biological half died, you didn't even notice. It was just another redundant part, just your ablative humanity.
You're still you. You're not the you that was born all those decades ago, but the you that was built and given life by bonding with a biological "you" that you've since discarded.
It's the Ship of Theseus, replacing every plank and beam as they rot, and there never being a point when it stops being the original and starts being a new thing. You have continuity of self from when you were born to now.
It's just that the Ship of Theseus started as a single-sail wooden ship with oars, and is now an aircraft carrier made of titanium and iron, with nuclear fire in its heart.

Essential Mobile Application Features for 2025: What Users Expect Today
Tumblr media
Mobile applications are no more an added advantage but have become essential in people’s lives. As the mobile platform continues to permeate into all aspects, including shopping, entertainment, learning, and working, the utility app users demand better app performances, innovations, and customized services.
This is because every stakeholder today is planning to have their business online to explore the benefits that come with it, hence the need to prepare and design your mobile application with the following features to meet the needs of 2025 and beyond.
1. Personalization Powered by AI
Tumblr media
Personalization has become the cornerstone of great user experiences. Apps equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) analyze user behavior, preferences, and patterns to offer tailored recommendations, content, and notifications.
For example, e-commerce apps recommend products based on past purchases, while streaming platforms suggest content aligned with users’ tastes.
Integrating AI ensures a dynamic and engaging experience that keeps users coming back for more.
2. Cross-Platform Compatibility
Tumblr media
When there are more devices on the market, and these devices use different operating systems, the users expect the applications to be as fluid as possible. For it to be as effective as a smartphone application or software, it should have compatibility with Android, iOS, and any web platform.
This saves developmental costs and affords users a similar experience regardless of the device they choose to stick with.
Organizations can use other mobile app development software tools like Flutter or React Native to accomplish this goal effectively.
3. Voice and Gesture Control
Tumblr media
With voice operations like Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, among others, now going mainstream, the apps have to have voice and even gesture support.
Users expect to perform tasks hands-free, making voice commands a must-have feature.
The intelligent movements make the app navigation easy and accessibility friendly to all the users across different age brackets.
4. Advanced Security Features
Tumblr media
With cyber threats on the rise, security is a top priority for app users.
Features like fingerprint/face unlock, encryption of data across the application, and multi-factor authentication are no longer luxuries.
Consumers require confidence that their data is safe, particularly in the apps that require information of such nature as is found in banking or health applications.
5. Offline Functionality
Tumblr media
The users themselves often cannot always be connected to the internet, although they are very particular about some functionalities of the app not requiring an internet connection.
Offline functionality is important for note-taking, navigation, and entertainment apps.
This way an app is guaranteed to keep its users engaged in spite of connectivity, as most data would have been cached locally.
6. Seamless Payment Integration
Tumblr media
Electronic commerce has later on become a trend, so ensuring that payments require easy and streamlined processes is a necessity.
Apps have to support a variety of payment choices such as credit cards, digital wallet services, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cryptocurrency, and the like.
Minimizing the steps of completing the order and enhancing the security parameters increases user satisfaction and sales.
7. Social Media Integration
Tumblr media
In the world of sharing, the apps that can integrate the users with their significant social accounts, including Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn, turn out to be beneficial.
The use of social media accounts streamlines the sign-up process; reporting of achievements for games or even recommendations for a product increases the circulation of the app and engagements.
8. Real-Time Updates and Push Notifications
Tumblr media
Keeping users informed in real-time is essential.
Push notifications ensure users don’t miss out on updates, offers, or alerts.
However, they must be used judiciously to avoid overwhelming the user. Tailored notifications based on user behavior perform better than generic ones.

How to Choose the Best Healthcare App Development Company
The global healthcare industry is undergoing a digital transformation, and mobile apps are at the forefront of this revolution. From telemedicine and patient engagement to medical records and remote monitoring, healthcare apps have become indispensable for both providers and patients.
But building a secure, compliant, and user-friendly healthcare app is not a simple task. It requires deep domain knowledge, technical expertise, and a clear understanding of healthcare regulations like HIPAA, HL7, and GDPR. That’s why choosing the right healthcare app development company is critical to your project's success.
Whether you’re a hospital, a medical startup, a clinic, or a health tech entrepreneur, this guide will help you make an informed decision when selecting a development partner.
1. Understand Your Project Scope and Goals
Before you start your search, clearly define the goals of your app. Are you building a fitness tracker, a mental health platform, a teleconsultation service, or a full-fledged EHR system?
Knowing your app’s purpose will help you filter out companies that specialize in your required solution. A healthcare software development company with experience in similar projects will understand the user flows, compliance requirements, and performance expectations your app must meet.
2. Look for Industry-Specific Experience
Healthcare is a highly regulated and sensitive domain. Your development partner should not only understand mobile and web technologies but also have industry-specific experience in healthtech.
Check if the healthcare app development company has built apps that involve:
Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM)
Telemedicine platforms
Health and wellness tracking
Lab report and diagnostic data integration
AI-based health risk assessments
Such experience proves the company is equipped to handle healthcare-specific challenges like patient privacy, interoperability, and clinical data security.
3. Verify Regulatory Compliance Expertise
One of the most critical aspects of healthcare app development is regulatory compliance. A misstep can lead to legal issues, financial penalties, and a loss of user trust.
Ensure the healthcare software development company has a track record of building apps compliant with relevant healthcare standards, such as:
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) – for U.S.-based apps
GDPR – for handling data of European Union citizens
HL7/FHIR – for interoperability between healthcare systems
FDA regulations – for medical device and diagnostic apps
Ask the company how they handle data encryption, secure login, user authentication, and access control.
4. Evaluate Technical Proficiency and Stack
Your healthcare app will need a solid technology stack that ensures performance, scalability, and data security. A trustworthy healthcare app development company will be proficient in the following:
Frontend: React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin for cross-platform and native development
Backend: Node.js, Python, .NET for server-side logic and API integrations
Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and healthcare-compliant data storage solutions
Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with CI/CD pipelines and scalable architecture
Security: SSL/TLS encryption, biometric authentication, multi-factor authentication (MFA)
Ask to see case studies or code samples to assess their engineering standards.
Tumblr media
5. Check Their Portfolio and Case Studies
Reviewing the portfolio of a healthcare app development company is a must. This will help you understand the types of solutions they've built, the industries they've served, and the challenges they've solved.
Ask for client testimonials, live demos, or app store links. Pay close attention to:
Design aesthetics and user interface quality
App speed and responsiveness
Security features and data protection methods
Integration with third-party APIs (e.g., pharmacy APIs, diagnostic labs, payment gateways)
This due diligence gives you confidence in their ability to deliver a healthcare-grade product.
6. Ensure UI/UX Expertise in Healthcare Design
A great app isn’t just functional—it must be easy to use for patients, doctors, and admins alike. Healthcare users range from tech-savvy Gen Z to elderly patients, so the interface needs to be intuitive, accessible, and inclusive.
Choose a healthcare software development company with skilled UI/UX designers who understand healthcare workflows, patient-centric design, and WCAG accessibility guidelines. Features like larger buttons, simplified navigation, and voice commands can improve engagement significantly.
7. Post-Launch Support and Maintenance
Healthcare apps require ongoing support to fix bugs, release updates, comply with new laws, and add features. Ask the company:
Do they offer post-launch support?
How do they handle emergency updates?
What are their SLAs for response and resolution?
A dependable healthcare app development company should be your long-term partner, not just a one-time vendor.
8. Check Pricing and Engagement Models
Pricing should be transparent and flexible. Many companies offer multiple engagement models such as:
Fixed-price (for well-defined projects)
Time and material (for agile, evolving projects)
Dedicated teams (for long-term partnerships)
Make sure the pricing aligns with your budget and allows scalability as your app grows. Also, ask about hidden costs related to hosting, licensing, or third-party APIs.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the best healthcare app development company is a strategic decision that can make or break your healthtech venture. From regulatory compliance and technical expertise to UX design and post-launch support, every aspect must be evaluated carefully.
A reliable healthcare software development company will not only help you build a compliant and scalable app but also empower your business with digital tools that improve patient care, operational efficiency, and health outcomes.
Take your time, ask the right questions, and choose a development partner that truly understands the complexity and responsibility of working in the healthcare space.

The npm advantage
As a developer you need all the api's that are available so that you don't have to reinvent the wheel. There is no point in that, npm allows you to reuse code that someone has made into a lib-utility. I call it a lib utility because it's normally a full set of programming api that enables you to achieve a purpose by making you harness the source code that actually makes your life easy. Infact under the hood react itself is a lib-utility but it's seen as a framework altogether. Most JavaScript frameworks leverage the npm system or reusing code. Frameworks like react, svelte, angular, vue.js, solidJS and quik.
Building cross-platform Apps with Electron and React
Above are most frameworks that are mainstream, I did not include nextjs, nuxtjs and preact because are a subset of mainstream frameworks. React was made as a single page application to solve a problem of server roundtrips which had performance issues. In the same way Electron was developed so that web developers that sometimes get a one of desktop application project don't have to go learn another programming language.
Npm package managers
There used to be a package manager called npm which was the native package manager and its very good. Since everyone is on the mission to solve problem, there has been an introduction of yarn and pnpm which is the latest. Pnpm came out in 2022 and its awesome, I will not go into the improvements made in yarn and pnpm but I will say node package manager(npm) is the tooling you need to use to install all you npm into your projects. After you install NodeJS, the base tool you need to develop JavaScript, It has prebuilt api's that allows you to access the filesystem, scientific and arithmetic base and console tools. These modules will be added by default in any node project along with the ones you would like to use.

Unlocking Innovation with Custom Mobile App Development Services
Tumblr media
In today’s fast-paced digital economy, innovation is not just a buzzword—it’s a business necessity. Mobile apps have become a key driver of innovation, transforming how companies interact with customers, manage operations, and build new revenue streams. As businesses increasingly look to offer tailored experiences, Mobile App Development Services have evolved to provide more than just generic solutions. The focus is now on custom mobile apps that meet unique business needs while leveraging the latest technologies.
Let’s dive into how custom mobile app development is unlocking innovation and helping businesses stay competitive in a mobile-first world.
What Are Custom Mobile App Development Services?
Custom mobile app development involves creating applications specifically tailored to the unique needs of a business, unlike off-the-shelf solutions that offer limited flexibility. With a custom app, you get complete control over features, design, user experience, and backend systems.
These services typically include:
Platform-specific development (iOS, Android, cross-platform)
UI/UX design optimized for user behavior
Backend integration with CRMs, ERPs, cloud infrastructure
API development, push notifications, GPS services, and more
Modern development stacks like Flutter, React Native, Swift, Kotlin, and Node.js are frequently used to ensure performance, scalability, and cross-platform compatibility.
How Custom Mobile Apps Drive Innovation
Custom apps empower businesses to innovate in ways that off-the-shelf solutions cannot. Here’s how:
🔹 Industry-Specific Use Cases
Healthcare: Apps with telemedicine integration, electronic health records (EHR), and wearable syncing improve patient engagement.
Retail & eCommerce: AI-powered recommendation engines and AR-based virtual try-ons boost sales and engagement.
Finance: Secure mobile banking apps use biometric authentication and real-time transaction alerts.
Logistics: GPS-based fleet tracking, inventory scanners, and predictive analytics improve efficiency.
🔹 Emerging Technologies Integration
Custom development allows integration with:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) – for chatbots, analytics, and user behavior prediction
Internet of Things (IoT) – for smart device management and remote monitoring
Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) – for immersive customer experiences
Blockchain – for secure transactions and data immutability
Innovation is not just about ideas; it's about implementing tech that aligns with business goals. Custom apps provide that platform.
Benefits of Investing in Custom Mobile App Development Services
Choosing custom mobile app development services gives you advantages that go beyond functionality.
✅ Scalability and Flexibility
As your business grows, your app can be upgraded with new features and support more users. It’s built with your future in mind.
✅ Enhanced Security
Custom apps are designed with specific business data and compliance needs (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) in mind, offering stronger protection against breaches.
✅ Superior Performance
Since the app is built for a targeted user base and purpose, it delivers a better, faster, and smoother experience.
✅ Improved Branding and Customer Engagement
Custom design elements help align the app with your brand. Push notifications, loyalty features, and personalized content increase user retention.
✅ Competitive Advantage
A feature-rich, seamless, and unique mobile experience can differentiate your business in crowded marketplaces.
Process of Developing a Custom Mobile App
The journey from concept to a fully functional custom mobile app involves a multi-step development cycle:
1. Discovery & Planning
Understand business goals, target audience, key features, and app objectives. This stage defines the scope and tech stack.
2. Wireframing & UI/UX Design
Visual blueprints are created to outline app screens, user flows, and design aesthetics tailored to the user base.
3. Agile Development
The app is built in iterative cycles, with regular feedback and feature testing. Cross-functional teams ensure faster development and deployment.
4. Quality Assurance & Testing
Apps are rigorously tested for bugs, security vulnerabilities, performance lags, and UI inconsistencies across devices.
5. Deployment & Post-Launch Support
Once approved, the app is published on app stores. Continuous updates, feature improvements, and performance monitoring follow.
This structured approach ensures the final product is both functional and innovative.
Choosing the Right Mobile App Development Partner
To truly unlock innovation, partnering with the right development team is crucial. Here’s what businesses should look for in Mobile App Development Services:
Proven expertise in mobile technologies and industry-specific solutions
Transparent processes, timelines, and cost structures
Strong portfolio and client references
Post-launch support including maintenance, updates, and user analytics
Collaboration-focused culture with regular updates and feedback cycles
Don’t just look for coders—look for strategic partners who understand both technology and your business model.
Conclusion
In a world where mobile is the new normal, innovation through custom apps is no longer optional—it’s a necessity. Tailored mobile solutions offer businesses the flexibility, scalability, and technological edge they need to thrive in competitive markets. From integrating AI and IoT to delivering superior user experiences, Mobile App Development Services are at the forefront of digital transformation.

Saturday Morning Coffee
Good morning from Charlottesville, Virginia! ☕️
Tumblr media
I’ve had a pretty fun week. Our dev team is doing really great work for our client, got to hangout with my grandson at his very important preschool graduation, and I had my first physical therapy session yesterday.
Overall a darned good week! 😃
Mike Barnes • The Hollywood Reporter
Joe Don Baker, the broad-shouldered Texas tough guy who portrayed characters on both sides of the law, most notably Sheriff Buford Pusser in the unexpected box-office hit Walking Tall, died May 7, his family announced. He was 89.
I remember watching Walking Tall as a kid and thinking Sheriff Buford Pusser was a real badass. I think I’ll have to watch it again.🪦
Mike Wendling, Rajini Vaidyanathan & Paul Coletti • BBC
Microsoft founder Bill Gates said he intends to give away 99% of his vast fortune over the next 20 years.
This is really nice of him in today’s world of Oligarchs. He’d have been worth so much if he hadn’t started giving his money away. We need more kindness like this in the world.
Thank you, Mr. Gates. ❤️
Jess Weatherbed • The Verge
Apple is trying to dissuade Europeans from using iOS apps that support alternative payment options by making them look scary.
Apple will absolutely not give up on its 15-30% cut of each app sale in the App Store.
What I really dislike about these scare tactics is how they imply that a third party purchasing system is not safe and secure. Web payment systems have been around for years and years and predate the App Store. I’d imagine there are some questionable players out there but I trust companies like Stripe and Shopify. I’m sure there are many other trustworthy companies out there.
If Apple keeps fooling around they’re gonna get some major fines in the EU.
Michael Tsai
When I started writing apps, the availability and quality of developer tools was considered to be an advantage for native development vs. the Web. These days, I still think native APIs usually lead to better apps—though there are some awful Catalyst and SwiftUI apps that would have been better as Electron—but the Web tooling has really improved. I think many would now consider it a strong advantage.
I know this article by Michael is talking about Electron but I’ve spent the last year and a half working on a project to slowly transform native iOS and Android apps into 100% React Native Apps and it’s gone really well. Same idea, different frameworks and platforms.
The start was slow and we spent the first four to six months building our bridging strategy and coding it. Once that was in place, along with React Native code to go with it, we started replacing hunks of functionality, feature by feature.
Recently a new Expo App was created and all that React Native work we started in the hybrid app has been shared via npm packages with the brand new app. It’s completely jumpstarted the new app with many features already built and tested in isolation. I’d say somewhere between 40-50% of the new app now works just by using these packages. Our networking, UI navigation, analytics, and telemetry packages were thoughtfully created to work with the native bridge code and 100% React Native code.
Anyway, I’ve written about it. Check it out if you have a minute. It’s been a really fun project.
Zack Whittaker • TechCrunch
Crypto giant Coinbase has confirmed its systems have been breached and customer data, including government-issued identity documents, were stolen.
Whoops. Will anyone ever be able to create a website and/or service that’s secure enough to not have breaches?
I’d imagine the best way to do it is not create the website or service in the first place. 😃
Emma Roth • The Verge
Warner Bros. Discovery is changing the name of its streaming service back to HBO Max. During its Upfront event on Wednesday, the company announced that it will rebrand Max this summer, a change HBO head Casey Bloys said “better represents” its offering.
I’m glad they did this. HBO has always been a place for quality series and originals. It’s a premium brand and with the addition of the Max name says “Hey, it’s the HBO you love with this other stuff we think you might enjoy.” 😆
Chiara Mooney • Microsoft React Native Blog
Let’s first talk about why Office chose to use React Native. Office has hundreds of millions of customers who expect visual consistency across desktop, mobile, and web. Currently, there are over 40 Office experiences which use React Native to build cross-platform features such as Privacy Dialog and Accessibility Assistant.
This is fascinating and weird to me all at once. Microsoft, one of the greatest software shops of all time is using React Native in Office. Yeah, you read that right, React Native in Office.
Did you know Microsoft is the primary contributor to React Native for Windows?
Can you imagine if someone did this for Mac? Oh, Microsoft did? Wait, what! I’m not sure how good this support is, but I’d love to see how it works.
It’s too bad a dyed in the wool Mac shop doesn’t take this on. Having an AppKit expert building this would make for a better framework, in my opinion. Of course Apple wouldn’t do it, but they should. I’d continue to build apps with Apple’s native tooling because I think it makes for better apps, but having something that opens the door to thousands and thousands of developers is good for the platform and might encourage more developers to create desktop apps instead of websites.
Ulrik Egede • The Conversation
While smashing lead atoms into each other at extremely high speeds in an effort to mimic the state of the universe just after the Big Bang, physicists working on the ALICE experiment at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland incidentally produced small amounts of gold. Extremely small amounts, in fact: a total of some 29 trillionths of a gram.
I wonder how much it cost to create 29 trillionths of a gram of gold from lead? 😂
It is pretty amazing. I wonder what else they’ve created in there? Hopefully not a world ending virus. 😳

Royal Enfield’s eagerly anticipated electric motorcycles, unveiled late last year under the Flying Flea brand, are now confirmed to hit the market early next year.
This is a nice looking bike. Very modern construction with the look of a bike from days long past. Not a bad option for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Microsoft is redesigning the Start menu in Windows 11 this month with a new, wider design that finally lets you disable the recommended feed of files and apps. While the new Start menu looks different to what exists in Windows 11 today, this design refresh could have looked a lot different as Microsoft has now revealed in concept images.
Finally. 👍🏼
